The website generally uses Categories to organize posts and have them automatically show up in the correct location.  Important Categories are as follows:

Home Page Articles – the four most recent posts with this category will show up on the front page of the website.

Documents – any post with this category will show up under About Pack 30->Documents.  This is intended to be a central storage location for all documents created by the pack.

Application Forms – any post with this category will show up under Join Our Pack->Application Forms.  This section is intended to serve as a central location where a new or returning member can download all required application forms.  Most of these posts are also categorized as Documents, so they will show up under About Pack 30->Documents as well.

Pack News – any post with this category will show up under Pack News.  This category is used for monthly announcements, publicizing events, and other information that we would like to share with both Pack 30 members and the general public.

Past Events – any post with this category will show up under Pack news->Past Events.  This category is used to document photos of events that the pack has participated in, to give prospective members an idea of what the pack has been up to.

Meeting Minutes – any post with this category will show up under Pack News->Meeting Minutes.  This category is used to archive our Pack Committee Meeting minutes and other such documentation.

Pack Knowledge Base – any post with this category will show up under Pack News->Pack 30 Knowledge Base.  You can also use any of the sub-categories.  These category is used to document and archive our ‘tribal knowledge’ and research that we’ve done, to enable easier planning of future Pack events and activities.  Some of the sub-categories include:

This website was built in June 2017 by Daniel Jurnove using WordPress 4.8 using the Scoutpack theme.  Several plugins are used to add functionality:

• All In One WP Security – required by LMI.net
• All-in-One WP Migration – allows easier export/import of site, in case we need to migrate to a different webhost
• Category Sticky Post – used to make the “Pack 30 Knowledge Base” post always appear at top of the KB – Knowledge Base category page.
• Contact Form 7 – used to build Contact us form
• Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP) – allows site to be analyzed by Google Analytics.
• Master Post Password – allows common password to be set for all protected content
• Meta Slider – adds photo gallery viewer used on front page
• MimeTypes Link Icons – adds icons to show files types for attachments (i.e. PDF files or DOC files)
• Post Index – adds index to stickied posts on knowledge base articles
• TablePress – adds ability to create/manage tables, used in KB articles
• Ultimate FAQ – used to create Frequently Asked Questions section
• WP Smush – automatically shrinks image file sizes
• WP Super Cache – speeds up website
